Aircraft Certification

Understanding authorized release certificates for aircraft parts

Why you should ask for a certificate?

  • To guarantee compliance of the part, specifications and regulations
  • To ensure the airworthiness of the part

However, the part's compatibility with an aircraft remains the installer's responsibility.

FAA Form 8130-3

FAA Form 8130-3 Single / Dual Release EASA

"FAA Form 8130-3 Single Release" certifies the part's compliance with the FAA-approved design.
"FAA Form 8130-3 Dual Release EASA" certifies the part's compliance with the design approved by both the FAA and EASA.

Who can deliver FAA 8130-3 Single / Dual Release EASA?

Only US-based "FAA Part 145" MRO shops and manufacturers can issue the "FAA 8130-3".
To issue the "Dual EASA Release" version, these workshops must also be certified "EASA Part 145".
